All kids love treasure hunts. They might be coming back from their friends' birthday parties and saying that they loved the treasure hunt. It's very easy to make a treasure hunt at home!
You only need a few things to begin making a treasure hunt at home.
Paper and pencil/pen
A quick brain (or not so quick)
An area to do it in
Treasure!
Steps:
Map out some locations in your home. It can be as few as 2 or as many as 20 based on your kids' age.
Next, make a clue for each one. It could be cryptic, code-based, or even rhyming! Here's an example:
I stand tall
Against a wall
Books are what I store
Some are fun and some are a bore
(a book cupboard)
Now comes the most important part. Keep the first clue with you. Then hide Clue 2 in Location 1. Hide Clue 3 in Location 2. Continue until there is 1 location left. Hide the treasure there, along with a sign saying 'Good job!' or a such message. (optional) You can refer to this flow chart for help.
The best part! Show the kids the first clue and let them solve the whole thing! Give hints if you want.
HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!
